Betty Hoyt's variation on the Sofa Pillow; neat attractor. hook - Tiemco 5212 thread - UTC 140 tan Tail - deer har body - poly yarn yellow rib - saddle hackle (clipped) ginger wing - deer hair head - deer hair spun/clipped Mash down barb and start thread at 60% point on shank clean/stack a clump of deer hair; tail should extend length of hook gap tie in and wrap hair back to tie-in; clip excess and return to tail tie in hackle (don't worry about hackle length since it's going to be trimmed later) tie in poly yarn and wrap back to initial tie-in wrap yarn forward, tie off and clip wrap hackle forward (evenly spaced) and tie off clip hackle shorter than hook gap clean/stack another clump of deer hair and tie in wing clean another clump of deer hair and cut tips (don't stack, you want the thicker fibers for the spun head); move thread in front of wing and make 2 soft loops over clump, slowly apply thread pressure and allow hair to spin push 1st clump back with fingernails/packer and repeat; tie off and add Sally invert, lay double-edge razor on hook eye and push straight back flip back over and use razor for angle cut on top of head clean up head shape (some folks are good enough with the blade for this app, I need my scissors) and you're done. Next time, I think I'll stop the body at the 50% mark so I can get more jug in the head; want that Barry Bonds/Jason Giambi PED look top view change body/hackle colors as you see fit Regards, Scott
