I just ordered drift boat plans What do you think? This would be mostly for the Sky. http://butlerprojects.com/boats/clarkfork/index.htm
Looks like a good set of plans, I think butler has been around for a while. The weight seems a tad light what thickness is the bottom? Stitch and glue is a fast easy method and makes for a great boat
The first boat I ever built was Butler's Montana Pram. The plans were very complete and the boat came out beautiful. I am still sick that I ever sold it. Back then I was able to find 10' long plywood for the sides and didn't have to do a scarf joint or a butt joint. It made for a really smooth looking boat. You'll love that drift boat! Ive
I think I may try the S&G method after this boat is completed. I like the idea of a clean interior. Maybe I will do a s&g pram, that would be cool. Post pics when you get rolling! I am about to glass my boat (as soon as I order the materials that is) and am getting excited to get it on the yak! Cheers!
I don't know Butler boats, but a quick glance at the boat on the link looks good and clean. One word of advice, don't skimp on quality materials. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well, your boat will last so much longer if you choose the best you can get. I'd love to see pics as you go along!
I Just finished my clark fork drift boat. Did you finish yours, Send pictures either way. Here is a clip that i put on YouTube showing the build.
Nice clip Douglas, I think you should get a bigger trailer though, the one you have looks a bit light duty for the job. Mike
