I recently purchased a KVI raft with a fishing frame for low water on the rivers here in the East. These are the same boats as Fish Craft and Star Inflatable. I went with the 15' raft because I wanted more inside room for comfort. I need to tweak it with a few more add on's before the guiding season starts but here's a few pictures from the maiden fun run.
Was thinking the same. I bought a frame from KVI to fit up to my 14' RMR Cat tubes. Doug's a nice guy and willing to work with you. Still haven't put it in the water, been dialing in my floor and sideboards. I've got till fall, when it'll be in NorCA & SoOre.
It does look like the oars are short in the picture, they are 10'. They seem plenty long enough rowing, the stop needs to be moved up some and I need to tilt the oar locks out a little to get the oars to balance better.
The star, KVI, similar tunnel hull rafts are made by Wusung IB: http://zebec.co.kr/english/boat/Bugs.htm I have the same oar towers on a frame I built and atcually have them fliped the other way, so you don't have to tilt them way outside to get the correct angle of repose on the oarlock. See attached photos. I like them this way a lot, when you are putting in the oar lock into the tower, if you drop the split ring or bushing it has a chance to go in the boat and not the water. I know doug and he is a good guy.
I wonder if this is where scadden gets his boats from one of them closely resembles the assault boats. http://zebec.co.kr/english/boat/Fishing_Boats.htm
Their frame fittings are similar to speedrail but far better casting & quality IMO. Pre-drilled as well.
