:thumb::thumb: for Lamiglas I broke an old Lami rod I had bought on sale at Bi Mart. The rod only had a one year warranty and was now 5 years old. I sent in the rod hoping to get a new top half and I got a call that they would sell me a brand new rod with a life time warranty for only $60.00. Hooray for me. I took the new rod out yesterday and it cast like a dream, plus caught a couple of nice trout at RF. Buy American, buy Lamiglas
What rod did you have, and what did you get in return? Lamiglas makes good rods...and account for about 1/2 my collection.
All of my river rods are Vedder Specials. Really love the 10'6" for drift gear. All my plug rods are Lami's... I have 7 of them and love them all.
Got my LAMIGLAS 9wt for Skagit trips... based on strength of WASHINGTON Company...Lifetime Warranty...Good Value...and last..but not least... ....affiliation/endorsement with the iconic Bill Herzog...
Lamiglas love their rods. I have a 1306T ... my go-to gear chucking steelhead rod. Had it for 13 or 14 years .. love it.
Will only fish Lamiglas gear rods. The salmon moocher and puget jigger get a lot of use. Only own one older Lamiglas fly rod though.
I plug lamiglas every chance I get! Treated me great for nearly 15 years, and about 5 rod breaks 1 was an actual rod failure, the rest were tailgates, doors, dogs etc.
They will be making some new fly rods out of the Stealth Si series from what I've heard. That should give them a higher end rod than they've made before.
Funny this topic comes up now. I just looked at their website this past weekend to see if there was anything I "needed". It looks like they had two lineups but no four piece rods and their Spey section was lacking. Still, for gear rods, they are pretty hard to beat; good warranty, good products, good prices.
In my gear days I was a lamiglass fan and my first single and double handers were Lami's. The single handers are pretty good-the double handers not bad. Never had an issue with the blanks or build quality with Lami's.
gear rods = custom fiberglass in the 70's to lamiglass in the 80's then gloomis in the 90's because i knew someone who worked at g-loomis and got the rods for cost . other wise i never would of stopped using lamiglass gear rods . fly rods = fenwick in the 70's then when lami's came out "80's" used they're 8 wt's for steel and bought orvis trout rods , still use they're 8 wt's that i bought in the mid to late 80's never a problem . they were a good quality rod for the money back then . you really never needed to spend over $200 for a good rod back then .
Just played with Lamiglas' new switch rod. Feels and handles alot like my Echo switch, I own one Beaulah 5/6 switch. The rest are all Echo and Lamiglas. Will probably buy the new switch when they decide to make it in 4pc rods. Jacob Reardon at Lami told me the other day they feel no need to make the switch rods 4 pc. I told him try to get a 6' rod tube on a flight in carry on. Nice living by Woodland, the plant is on my way to the Kalama.
I've got a couple fiberglass "honey" Lamiglas rods that I really love. I hope to get another at some point. If they are stepping up their game in the graphite world, I'd probably look there also (should I have a reason to buy a new graphite rod).
My first "expensive" rod was a Lamiglas. I bought it and came home, my wife at the time, said "you paid $100 for a damn stick, have you lost your mind"? I still have that Lamiglas and love it; can't say that about the ex-wife though.
