Looking for some comments about the two reels in question.

I'm curious what you guys think about the difference between the Guru HD and the Guru,

    GURU 3
    5.50 oz
    150 yds 20#

    GURU 3 HD
    6.10 oz
    150 yds 20#

So what I'm seeing is for $10.00 more I get:
Cage design = heavier by 1.60 oz
And they say on the website it makes a great saltwater reel but on the Guru they don't mention saltwater use, I see people using it for saltwater so I don't see it being a problem.

Anyone compared the two side by side on an 8 weight for saltwater use? input would be much appreciated!

It might help thin backing, running line, mono, braid or other from getting caught between the spool and cage.
    Saltwater ok.

Why do you blame the reel?
  5. because the poor design of the spool allows line to slip out of the side
