    Swap Closed

With a new year I'm already anxious to start rigging up for coming midge hatches. This swap patterns fished mostly with floating line on top, in the surface film, or just subsurface. Midge emerger patterns preferred (vs. larva). Maybe will open to all midge patterns;) depending on what interest just for emergers. Always great seeing proven patterns that fish well.

Looking for 10-12 tiers; two patterns of same bug in any size #14-18ish.
If 12 tiers that would be 2x11=22 bugs to send in.
    Deadline extended; Saturday, February 15th.
Standard swap rules apply, including return envelopes with postage.

I'm in. My pattern isn't strictly a midge; I use it anytime fish are taking on or near the surface, including midges.

Hear you troutpocket. One of my favorite bugs isn't really a midge but imitates allot of general surface bugs. I discovered a great midge emerger through one of these swaps that I'm now sold on; unfortunately lost both of the original bugs to fish. Might try duplicating that one for this swap.

If ya'll want to push it back a little maybe 15th of Feb I'm in, or I guess if there is a smaller group. Okay you convinced me I'm in, haven't decided on fly yet, maybe Lady McConnell.

I just don't tie emergers well to be honest. But then again that is because I rarely tie them. I will hem and haw about this for awhile and maybe attempt a few more inverted patterns that I really like the look of. If I feel I can produce something worthy, I'm in.

I really like the one from the winter swap.

Well looks like we have 6 or maybe 7 w/ Ira. Hope to get a few more, these should be easy enough ties right folks?
Lady McConnell is so similar to Lasha's Raccoon I'm going to find something else to tie.

I'm fine with pushing the deadline out to Feb 15th plus might bring in a few more tiers. Ira, this extra time might help ya out. I'm still deciding too and have three different ones on mind.

It is but the way I tie the Raccoon is pretty different from the original so I don't think it would hurt to have both if the McConnell is a producer for you and that's what you want to tie.

Hmm, okay well it's that or Shipman's Buzzer. What with the same last name and all I think I'll tie Shipman's Buzzer in different colors for folks. Black and Olive. Super easy tie so I may have to add an extra fly.

Curious to see the Raccoon variant. I love the deer hair emergers for low light hatches.

Are you all OK if we end up with 8-9 tiers?
Since the due date is about a month away think will keep it open for about another week or so.

I'm fine with that; I already started tying and got the ugly ones out of the way.

Sounds good to me. I've got my pattern "tweaked" for this swap and all materials ready to go.
