I know that this question is supposed to be on the fly topic forum, but it doesn't look like anyone frequents that. What size leeches work good for 12" bows and brookies? They're stocked, if it makes any difference.

I would fish either #6 or #8 mohair leeches, or carey specials for fish of that size. Typically they are tied on 3 or 4 xl hooks.

Try using smaller leech patterns from size #12 to size #10 first. My favorite is marabou leech, slightly weighted and fished of the bottom with semi long strips. If that doesn't work, fish a pattern about the size of fish pellets (smile). Good luck fishing!
