Headed up to the island this weekend for my cousins wedding, and staying the night. Sun morning I will be going to one of these two lakes I just cant decide which one. I have never been to Lone lake so its tempting but I have had really good days on Pass. Anyone have a report or some advice?

    Skyler,

I was there today. On the water by eight o'clock. Had to try the balanced leech. That olive green that Rowley ties on his site produced two and a chromie got the other one for me. Tried dragging a black and maroon and the olive guy as well, no luck on the troll, just under the indicator. Seems like i should have done better, maybe not enough patience at times.

Kind of a late report here but Pass for sure. I've been hitting Lone past few weeks just for the challenge of it, and a lot of guys could get blanked out there. The fish are nicer than Pass but a lot harder to come by in this cold water.

Pass was snowy and challenging today but coughed up a decent amount, certainly more than Lone would. Nothing magic going on and lots of onesy-twosey if you keep moving and work at it. Worth it to be underway before first light, there was good activity between about 6:30 and 7:30. Beyond that, the first half of the day is far more productive and I was almost dead even between the bank and just out and down. Everything on the retrieve with a sinker. Browns were showing pretty well, but nothing great big. Saw a couple of boats fishing vertical but not sure how they did.

I do love the shrimp shack, and at this rate the weather should lead to shorter lines.

    Report from Pass...
It was cold, sleeting and I was in a float tube because that is all that would fit in the wife's VW. So I froze my balls off and only fished for a few hours. But I finally spent the time and tied up some balanced leeches. I would have some pictures but because of the constant rain and snow I did not want to lose my second phone to water this year. I caught a nice 16" bow and had one break my line on just in front of the house on the northern side of the lake. Im going to try to make a few more trips up there before I PCS to Kentucky. Hopefully next time the weather is a little more cooperative.
