Checked out the Loop Multi and Opti reel and took it out to Montana for a couple of weeks! Short story - IT ROCKS!!

I liked having a 6wt in addition to the two TFO Pro 9' 5wt's that I regularly bring out. The extra length was great from the bank when I needed to cast over or around bushes! From the boat, on my 12 mile float on the Big Hole, the rod was awesome as well. I landed a nice bow on the Big Hole and another nice brown from the bank of the Beaverhead.

This rod has plenty of backbone and was a pleasure to cast. I'm not actually sure what line this rod had on it, it looked like a Cortland or SA line, but was matched very well and cast easily at all distance's (short, medium and booming long casts).

I was able to make 70' to 80' casts with good presentation on Poindexter Slough to very spooky fish. No hookups, but I wasn't able to figure out what they were taking until I talked to a few other more experienced fly guys later in the day.

This is a rod that I will consider buying in the future, I am currently building another fast action 6wt. I would consider this in a 7wt as well, but have only cast the one Loop rod and would prefer to get the AEG version, which is built on the same blank.

It was hard to give this rod back and I would highly recommend that you give this setup a try for yourself!

    Loop Multi 9'6" 6wt

This is a great moderately fast rod. This rod honestly has a lot of soul! I am not a fast rod fan and if you like something in between you are going to love this stick. If I needed a third 6wt this would be the one I would drop some change on.

Really...who now makes a shitty fly rod? not considering your gear rod pretenders. Berkely, etc.
