Here are some map links I found informative to see locations and scale of the fires in the northwest.
The size of the Carleton Complex is apparent in these maps.

locally, smoke seen north of the tricities, and obscuring views of Rattlesnake Mountain a couple of evenings ago, must have been from the brush fires in the Saddle Mountains on the west side of Sentinal Gap. (south of I-90, west of the Columbia River, SW of Vantage)

This hot weather plus lightening strikes sure makes for edgy people.

Thanks, I've been very curious about this. At this point we plan to camp at Lincoln Rock State Park on Tuesday, but that is looking like an interesting choice at this point.

This one is interesting if you are interested in the smoke plumes. http://www.lar.wsu.edu/airpact/gmap/ap4.html

Just select "Latest fires" under the Misc overlays menu, then" PM2.5" under the Species animations menu.

We have 'our share' of big fires going on the California/Oregon Boarder. Only good thing is we got .37 inches of rain this morning. Bad thing is the suns out and the storm clouds are building up again over the Cascade Mountains.
