Moose use

    AK moose hunting season is coming up. My buddy will mail me parts as requested for fly tying. What do I want? Tail? Beard? hide (what portion)? And what type of flies would these parts be used for? Thanks

    Steaks and roasts, and some burger too.
    Moose hair smells bad when it's cooked.:)

    moose mane makes good midge bodies. Soak the hair in hair conditioner before tying as the hair is brittle sometimes.

    I have a bag of moose mane hair from a moose I shot last year if anyone interested.
