I'm sure the greatest day Ill ever have.

Woke up to an incredible day. Overcast and dreary. I dont know about you, but perfect conditions usually don't add up to perfectly cooperating fish, especially on this bitch of a river. Today it did. I started off in the morning heading to a preferred run. Someone was in there so opted to fish a run I usually don't fish until lower water levels. Well, right in the sweet spot a nice little hen gave it up. Cool, off to a good start. Headed up river and found one of my nugget runs empty. Most of the upper river was vacant. Half way through my workout I got a furious pull followed by a half assed fight. Fish to feet. Pretty dam satisfied at this point and ready to hit some water I don't hit this time of year being that I've already had a great day swinging. What transpired next is insanity. I worked my way through this 300 yard run without a bump and was reaching the end where it peters out. I've got fish here before, but not
consistently. Half way through the swing on the next cast.....pull-pull- on! Fish to hand. Alright, now we're talking. Step back in and two cast later.....solid pull and on. Decent fight and fish number #4. Adrenaline is pumping and im feeling REAL good about myself. What the hell? I jump back in, take a few steps down and yank. This buck was out for payback in honor of his fallen brethren. He ran, sat (mostly sat) ran, sat some more (unmovable) ran, and finally succumbed. Knees shaking and smile peeling off my face, I called it a night. Another week to go and I don't care if I get another bump. :D

WoW! I would love to say, " I love days like that", but I've never had one. That is truly epic! A 5 for 5 day...I'm dreaming about it now.

Congrats, and enjoy the glow while it lasts!!

Wow what an incredible day that must have been! Just doesn't get much better than that.

I hope you stopped and picked up a Lotto ticket on your way home.
(Not to imply that going 5 for 5 on the swing is simply a matter of luck lol)

I have days like that every night when I go to bed, and then I wake up.....

Good day Pan. Then again, as much as you seem to fish, you deserve days like that.

That needs to happen once in a while just to validate what steelheading once was about. Glad you got it.
