I've built plenty of rods and each time I build one, I do a little more each time. This rod was just my second with a feather inlay and my first where I turned my own cork. I also added oak accents to the grip.

I turned my own cork and lathed the two oak accents on the handle (both lathed with a drill). The wraps are black with silver accents. The feather inlay is multiple strands of grizzly hackle (about size 16). The reel seat is a pac bay a7 uplocking flush mount. The guides are pac bay TiChrome.

I used threadmaster for the first time on this rod. I didn't see a whole lot of difference from flexcoat until my off hand bumped into an already finished wrap. I had laid down the finish about 15 minutes earlier when I bumped it and the thread master suprisingly leveled off after a minute or so. Amazing stuff.

I actually spent some time fancying up this rod. I'll admit, I'm a little proud of it. I test drove it yesterday and it passed with flying colors. G-Loomis has yet to let me down.
