Surprised a wolf didn't get him. :clown:
I wander what the arguement would be if this nut would have used a compound bow.Like other posts have mentioned its not about guns its about human behavior and this guy was fucked up.
A comedian I watched once talked about this issue in a way. He thought it would be a good idea for all drivers to carry guns. He thought it would cut down on road rage. He imagined a merge situation with a little old lady pulling out her 45 and holding it up and asking to merge please. He also didn't believe that it was guns that killed people, he blamed it on those nasty little bullets so advocated not for gun control, but instead for bullet control. Cracked me up at the time.
Now onto a more important point, if ever a thread needed hijacking, I think we have a winner winner chicken dinner.
I'm looking forward to me trip to Ascension bay comming up soon, any advice on flies for permit?
You never fail to entertain me!
Thanks for the chuckle
Haha, Good one!
This one will never make 19 or 21 pages er whaterver... I predict the mods eutanizing this one after no more than 4 pages!
Re this thread. I should point out the guy who raised this point isn't a politician. He's head of a group of retired rangers.
His point may be his opinion, but I don't think it'll go anywhere. The right to keep and bear arms is in the Constitution, and the Courts are backing the broad interpretation of that. They won't uphold such a broad form of blanket restraint.
I should also point out the source of the story is not a very credible news source. Repeated analyses have documented extreme bias and repeated fabrications in their published stories. See Columbia Journalism Review if you need more info.
Bill Wade, the outgoing chair of the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees, said Congress should be regretting its decision to allow loaded weapons in national parks.
He called Sunday's fatal shooting a tragedy that could have been prevented. He hopes Congress will reconsider the law that took effect in early 2010, but doubts that will happen in today's political climate
So here's what the thread is all about. Bill Wade is a scum for using this woman as a pawn. He sucks to blame congress for this one. Bill Wade is also a liar for claiming could have been prevented if the law wasn't changed. I would say "scum-sucking" liar is about correct.
Very sorry to hear that you have guns dryflylarry. I don't think you're qualified to own a weapon, do you have all your paperwork on those guns? Also, I think you are the only one on this thread so far who has called another forum member a "scum sucking liar". I'd suggest there is a "scum sucking liar" here but I won't name him.
Those little crab flies I hear are best. They are killer, but getting them to land upright is the key. I'm not kidding Ira. I have not fished for them, but know someone who has - that was the ticket.
Now where's my chicken!
about 100 miles north
Now I've heard everything!! What kind of fly do you use to catch crabs ? Ira, are you going to have a seminar on fly fishing for crabs soon ....
Can you catch crabs with a vertical presentation?
You don't fish for the crabs silly. You use a crab fly. Come on man
Gun control laws mean nothing to those out of control. This tragedy will be used as leverage. I hate that such attempts will be made. Unfortunatley our society is one that seizes opportunity, right, wrong or indifferent.
We voice our opinions here often, and we don't always agree. No sense in getting nasty over our differences.
Suspect this means PT was correct, are you collecting or planning to collect a nice fat publically funded retirement dryflylarry? Are your opinions publically funded support suggestions? Assuming so you might consider stifeling your opportunistic oral orifice.
Dryflylarry, as a public employee you must realize all your opinions are bought and paid for by US, the taxpayers who've provided your paychecks. We paid you for your opinions...too bad you can't see it.
Hey Mumbles if this is a place to voice our opinon why are people hijacking this thread to change the subject? Is this a common tactic here? It's a douchebag move everywhere else on the internet is it considered a douchebag move here as well?
Thanks Ed I see you have 13,000 posts maybe you can help me decypher ettiquette here I'm fairly new.
Tense topics sometimes can divide a group. Gun control laws is a pretty hot topic whenever it comes up. I hate to see it come up opportunitically on the heels of this tragedy. Regardless, it is the elephant in the room, no matter what the hijack attempt. Sometimes I think a distraction is a good idea. Somtimes I'm not so sure. Sorry, I'm likely unable to decipher it further because I've stood on both sides of the hijack fence. I do not believe that laws against guns can realistically be enforced. I do not belive that laws against guns in some areas prevent gun crimes. I do not think any law had any bearing on the actions of this disturbed young man and the horrible impact he's caused to this family and those close to them.
i don't know why all you dumb peckerwood white rednecks are giving the anti gun guys such a hard time, they want to live in a society that they feel is safe and secure, and guns only prevent that from happening. if they dont want to protect themselves, their woman, or even their children, rather letting and depending on somebody they dont know, to do it for them, that is: provided they are given a time out by a violent man, to call for help and can stay alive for the next 3 to 30 minutes it will take to get help, well.......let them.
