I picked up this blank from a guy that is offering his blanks on the auction web site in which no one speaks of and it is his no color 8ft 3pc 5/6 wt. I have to say that i am impressed with this blank right out of the shipping tube. I got a chance to line it this afternoon and do some grass casting with both 5 and 6wt line and I found that the 5wt wf line made it feel like a heavy IM6 graphite. I was sold on the 6wt rio gold for it seemed more like a traditional slower fiberglass. All around I do think that this will not be the last blank that I build from him. In this build used the following components:

    Blank: No color 8 foot 3pc 5/6wt
Guilds: Alps Salt water stripper MXN & Single foot
    Reel seat: Forecast "I" Seat
Grip: Sized from a grip that I sent him **Matched Perfectly** Carbon Fiber from Dick Ross aka forum member NIrodneck THANK YOU
Label: Black Peel & Stick from tightlinerods
Thread: Prowrap Metallic gunsmoke trim & Back main

Beautiful rod. Are you interested in a vintage Phillipson Master?

Nice job Matthew! I really like the transition from the grip to the blank. I hope the one I build looks that good.

Thanks you guys its always good to hear what other people have to say about your builds I appreciate the feedback :) Speaking with the seller of the blank he will be working on different sizes but as of now its just the 8'0 5/6 wt in a few colors.

Geeez....It really looks nice. I have some old (40+ year old) blanks that I still love to cast. When I compare them to my modern graphite rods (that don't cast as far) I wonder if the changes have been worth the price. I used to be able to build two rods for the price of a fly line...sure can't do that today!
