Sounds like a nice outing. I worked all day at a kid's fishing event on Island Lake. It was fun teaching and watching a bunch of kids and their parents fish for the first time. The bait fishermen and casters that were there were giving me a hard time about being one of those fly fishing guys. I put on a fly fishing demo after the fish retaining net was removed and all the stuff was cleaned up. That silly fly fishing guy moved away from where the net was and caught 12 nice rainbows in about an hour. That was better than the bait fishermen. Not my idea of really great fishing, but i used a just self built fly rod, so it was a blast. I also met a bunch of great volunteers from all walks of fishing interest and met a lot of happy parents and children. There should be more events to teach the young ones about fishing, camping and hiking!
