Check is in the mail so to speak. Now the waiting beings...
Eric, It took you long enough to make the obvious move
Nah, just took a while with the holidays and all for me to discuss all the specifications and such with the maker.
So when do we get to find out what vise you've purchased?
Ummm....I think I'll make you all wait with me. It will be worth the price of admission though, I promise.
Gals need toys too so just try to keep it even. My wife has been sewing for almost 60 years and her current sewing machine is a 27 year old Viking that I paid $1600 for back in 1985. She is thinking about a new machine and I looked up the model she was interested in. The ad read: "$3,000 off this week only!" Gulp.
Buy the vise and enjoy, it's later than you think.
$3,000 OFF! What's the original retail of that thing? I had no idea you could buy a car for the price of a new sewing machine. Shhheesh.
If it stopped her from nagging it might be a worthwhile purchase.
Feel relieved...my wife easily has $20k+ in a Bernina sewing machine, quilting frame, and a Bernina 'serger' (whatever the hell that is). Apparently Bernina is the sewing machine equivalent of a Winston bamboo rod. Expensive? Yes, but it means I get a 'free pass' for whatever toys I feel like buying.
Fixed it for you.
Don't know if I'd get a 'free pass' on that one. At my age I'd much rather spend $500 on a new flyrod than on lap dances at a titty bar.
Getting the ladies whatever they want and especially whatever they need is a wise investment in long term happiness. Her 'office' has flat screen TV, Blue Ray player, Bose radio, serger, sewing machine, floor to ceiling fabric racks, computer and lavender walls to keep it an all girl domain. Whatever she wants is cool with me. By the same token, any tool that I have ever wanted or thought I might need she has either urged me to buy or bought it herself and given to me. And fly fishing equipment is a no-brainer. Her response is: Just order it, get whatever you need.
Gotta love it, Ive
My favorite quote in this regard: "My biggest fear is that my wife will sell my fly fishing gear for what I told her I paid for it after I die."
The dwarves have finished mining the ore in Mordor for the vise, the smitthy has had a go at it and now it is being carried by wings to its new home.
Shouldn't be long now. Lot sooner than I expected.
Mixing genres, "flying monkeys"??
Yeah but the usual "it was only 10 dollars" trick doesn't work as well as it used to.
Wait until is boats!!
Good grief man! It didn't take this long to build the first atomic bomb!
Must be a very cool vise.
