about as cheap as you are going to find is a Tioga 12. Scrounge Ebay - you will not be 100 bucks or less. Maybe 140 or 150 on Ebay. Best of Luck in your quest.

I’ve been listing a complete spey outfit: rod, reel, and windcutter line since April but no takers. Guess it’s time to split it up. The rod is a St. Croix 7/8 wt., the reel is a Tioga 12, the line is the Rio WindCutter Spey interchangeable tips system (WWF7/8/9). The reel is loaded with backing and the spey line. The entire outfit is in excellent condition, used once for a casting class (I realized then that the arm injury I have prevents me using 2 handed rods effectively). I’m asking $400 for the entire outfit but will split it up as follows:

    Rod $200
    Reel $100
    Line $100

Let me know if you’re interested in all or part. I live in the Seattle area and will deliver locally.

Try the Okuma Intregity. I have the 10/11 and it was under $100.00. And they also have a smaller one,a 7/8 or a 8/9(I'm not to sure) for under $75.00 I think Just right for your sons rod and maybe a Wind Cutter line by Rio.
