Summer is winding down, so my time in the shop will be going up. I will be working on a new project soon and need some help if you can. A guy wants me to refinish/rebuild his fiberglass rod from when he was a kid. It is currently unfishable, however the blank is in good shape and has a medalist that I can fix. The rod is a Shakespeare Wonder rod woodgrain, from the early 70's. I need to work on the handle and redo the guides and wraps. The current wrapping thread is very faded and I would like to see what the original color was. If anyone has one of these and could post a picture to give me some idea it would be greatly appreciated. I will post before, in process and after pictures once I get started.

    Thanks in advance,

You might get a good idea of the thread color by looking at the underside of the wrapping thread as you remove it. You can compare that to the examples that may be offered by others.

Thanks Mike. That is a good idea.
