A good friend of mine, Richard Stoll, has a new book out published by Frank Amato. I am expecting a copy soon and will be able to get some quotable quotes and excerpts out.

Leland, thanks for sharing this. I have been talking to Richard about this book for a couple of years. The science on what Salmon eat and how it can impact fly fishing has had me excited to get my copy. Congratulations to Richard on getting the book published.

That looks really great. I agree with Steve about it being nice to learn more of the scientific reasons behind their eating patterns.

Great to see someone picking up the chalange since Bruce Fergeson's passing. Those salmon in the salt have always been intriging! Can't wait to read his thoughts.

Richard is a cool guy, and I can't wait to get my eyes on this book. I talked with him about it late last winter at a book signing at Peninsula Outfitters in Poulsbo. He's a smart, passionate fly angler....

Picked up copies today. Read the first 30 pages on the ferry home. This book is an eye opener. I am excited to keep reading. Thanks for contributing more science to our sport Richard.

I'm looking forward to it. I got an email the other day announcing that he'll be having a book signing at Peninsula Outfitters on June 2nd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about this sport and a hell of a nice guy.

Thanks for the heads up Leland. In spite of rarely making it to the salt, I loved reading Fly Fishing for Pacific Salmon II, and will definitely check out this one.

Yes, thanks for the hedzup! This is another that I'm going to have to read. I'm sure I'll want my own copy. My list is getting ahead of me, and I'm behind on my reading and book buying. Not fishing enough, either. Gonna have to fix that!

Thanks for that info. I have family coming in to town but I'll try to make it to that. Need to grab a new fly line too :)
