I have been fishing the Tongariro River and doing well. I have been nymphing a large hare's ear or PT and an egg pattern trailer and slaying fish. Most of the other people I see are tossing streamers and not doing so good. I am waiting for some rain to bring the big rainbows out of the lake into the river, but it is a dry May here. I have been looking around for smaller rivers and streams to find some trophy bows and browns while the weather has been good, but no luck yet. If anyone has any locations that they know about, and don't mind sharing I would appreciate it. Here are some of the pictures I've taken on my travels.
