OK, the river's blown to heck and you're stuck in the MH for the next 36 hours with a stack of DVD's. NO CHICKS,' just you .... given an choice what would your watch?

    My list:

    Forest Gump

    Field of Dreams

    Hamburger Hill

    Shreck (#1)

    Dances with Wolves

    Dead Poets Society

    Good Will Hunting

    Lawrence of Arabia

Ronin (and about anything by the main actors)

Damned near anything with Russell Crowe

I could go to 20'ish, but not the question.

    Your top ten 'guy flicks?'

Dances With Wolves and Field of Dreams are no brainers IMHO "His mind is gone" and "No, I mean what do you want?"
Raising Arizona "You're young and you got your health. What you want with a job?"
    Bowfinger "Keep it together..."
Hunt for Red October "One ping only please"
Bull Durham (ok we've got Costner covered now) "I don't know where its going. I swear."
3:10 to Yuma (ran out of ideas. its pretty good) "I hate posse's"

Is it cheating if I throw in...?

    Band of Brothers
    Deadwood
any documentary by Ken Burns (baseball, civil war, WWII, Lewis and Clark are my favorites)

That should cover you for a few hours :thumb:

I'll have to add my Simpson and Seinfeld DVD's even though they aren't really "flicks". But with all their respective seasons, they would last me a long time.

Some great movies listed but I'll have to add Shawshank Redemption, Lonsome Dove, and how could we leave out "A River Runs..."?

I saw Unforgiven on the list but it would be a sin not to mention it again. 300 was pretty amazing too.

For a comedy, I enjoy Vacation with Chevy Chase and Naked Gun with Leslie Nielsen.

Hard to argue about any of them but a Dirty Harry Movie of some kind should be inserted in there somewhere.

I'd also add the following for consideration:
    Blazing Saddles
    Midway
    Dr Strangelove
    The Dirty Dozen
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Battle of the Bulge
    A Bridge to Far
    The Great Santini
    Fletch
    Patton
    Blues Brothers
    Twleve O'Clock High
    Spongebob Squarepants the Movie

I could be happily entertained with my choice of ten movies already mentioned by others. However, my ten additions are:

    Spartacus
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Bridge on the River Kwai
The Best Years of Our Lives
The Naked Spur (James Stewart, Janet Leigh, Ralph Meeker, and the worst wading accident ever)
    The Quiet Man
    The Searchers
    Runaway Train
The Professionals (Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale,
Jack Palance, Woody Strode, and Robert Ryan - any questions?)

p.s. Why didn't someone start this two months ago, when we were in the middle of the Long, Dark Tunnel?
