Hey all. I'm going to north Idaho for a family reunion at the beginning of August way up by Naples/Bonners Ferry (by Ruby Ridge) and was wondering if any of y'all knew any good small creeks near there.

I have read a bit on St. John's and St. Marie's and whatnot, but I was looking for something closer to where Ill be.

I assume the Kootnei will be a popular response, but any honey holes? Anyone ever fish Deep Creek out there?

    Thanks
    -Steve

  2. is the panhandle the skinny part? I always thought Idaho looked more like a butchers knife

Hey Steve, I'm not sure how long you want to be away from your family reunion, but the Joe and NFCDA are quite a distance from the Naples BF area. Both would be a full day trip dusk to dawn to fish (especially the Joe). You may want to stick with the Kootenai, Clark Fork, Yaak, Moyie, or Pack River which are are within a short distance of Naples. There are also a bunch of smaller streams around the area the feed the Kootenai.
    Good Luck.

I agree with slim, lots of water closer. You would do well to check with the Big R fly shop in Sandpoint
for some up to date suggestions. Good Luck.
