Kicking around Port Hardy for the next 3-4 weeks and was wondering if anyone knows of a place to catch summer steelhead up this way? Or any other fly fishing for that matter.

    Cheers!

It's my understanding that most island rivers get small runs of summer fish. A quick google search gets you a little info. In my limitted time on that island, I was unable to get better info from locals but I have not been to Point Hardy. I believe there is a flyshop in Port Hardy. You can check there. Truthfully, for all the time and effort that I have put into info gathering for the 2 trips I have made to the Island, I have stockpiled very little information. It's just hard to get.

The best map that I have seen is a backroads guide book. I recomend getting one. Be careful on the logging roads too. Those are some big trucks.

    Go Sox,

Many years ago, the Marble River was recommended to me, but I never got there.
