And people wonder why fly fishers(especially spey guys) get a bad rap.

I did not make the video nor did I post it on Youtube, all I did was find it on youtube. Whats wrong with having a sense of humour?

    My favorite parts
    1) Dog
    2) Head bob whilst stripping the line off the reel.
    3) Use of word "lob" to describe cast.
    4) High rod stop.

Bruce, I think I need help with my ET casting.

I'm desperate to get this Ed's Trebuchet thing right, any advice would be helpful.

Maybe I'm not driving my expensive Loomis TOWARD the GROUND hard enough, I hear that's key.

Might even cast better than you.

Definitely not fly fishing....I'm not tring to take away his right to fish that method or his pursuit of happiness.
Hopefully this doesn't catch fire like "Beads" and become an "alternative way to flyfish".

Kind of like the "chuck 'n duck" technique that was going around in the 90's, slinky weight tied to shooting line, I think they were chucking egg patters.
    Whatever floats your boat, huh?

That just seems pointless. Get a spinning rod and jig that squidro.

I'm amazed that some of you seem to have an inability to notice sarcasm when it get's lobbed right in your face,......with plenty of overhang.

Brady, I don't think anyone is questioning Bruce's motivation for posting, we all know it was for fun...and it was funny...especially the head bobs!

All comments are directed to the technique in question not the poster.

i think a light spey rod could do work rigging a heavy tube fly (aka buzzbomb) and using 200 feet of running line.

I'd like to give it a try, but I don't care for mono as my running line.

I'm thinking superubermegashort skaj, the next new wave in shooting heads.

you rig a no slip mono loop to the inside of the link for better action? maybe a piece of 12 lbs on the back and 8lb off the front, connect the 12lb to the shooting line. you might lose alot of chains.

James, I have no doubt that Bruce got it. It seemed to me you did get that the maker of the video was being sardonic. Maybe I'm wrong.
