We had a smaller group than last year. But we had more signs! The guys doing the heavy lifting (Wayne Cline, Curt Kraemer and Steve Fransen) brought us up to speed on last year's and this year's escapement and progress from last year's Commission photo 1.JPG photo 2.JPG meetings. We took a moment of silence at 10:37AM and collected $137. It was to pay for a Darrington resident who is incurring an increased gas bill on their work commute into Arlington. Turns out, we had an extremely grateful recipient in our midst. Lastly, we will know how successful today's demonstration was tomorrow morning in the Everett Herald.

    Leland.

Thanks also to Leland also for the expressive signs, expert staging of the participants for pictures, and coordinating the collections for those affected by the slide in Oso. I hope to see a bunch of you at the WDFW Commissioner's meeting April 7th in Olympia!

    Just a clarification here:

The meeting in Olympia is Saturday April 12th and begins at 8:30am
It's best to arrive 15 minutes early.

For those of you that cannot make the Saturday meeting, there is also a Friday meeting Where you may sign up to speak your piece on restoring the C&R season.

Here is a link to the agenda schedule for both days.
    http://wdfw.wa.gov/commission/meetings/2014/04/agenda_apr1114.html

Saturday was chosen as the "official" date because we felt that more folks would be able to attend.
Having a contingent there on Friday also can nothing but help the cause!

    Commissioners Meeting - April 11 & 12th 8:30 am

    Natural Resources Building

1111 Washington St SE, Olympia, WA - First Floor, Room 172

Nice highlights, focused on the economic and biological points.

That puts the reason for the event into the right perspective. Glad I was there with the rest of you.

    Oops . . . thanks Wayne!

Posting after evening drinks = suspect details. The 12th it is! Good to see Ed, Charles, Curt, Steve and the rest of the "Occupy" cast on Saturday.

Getting our Fish and Wildlife management to consider a change in management strategy is always a challenging task, but I'm surprisingly optimistic in this case.

    Cheers,

    Brian

I think...in the spirit of cooperation...you should change his name.
It's not like he's gonna notice or anything...

Can't do it. Don't know what Kumo means but I am pretty sure it doesn't mean bear. He is named Kuma for a damn good reason.
