With the onset of Fall started thinking of bird hunting... Anyone interested in participating in a Cast & Blast in Oct? Am relatively newcomer to WA and would like to reciprocate to all WFF members who have help a newcomer like me with fishing info. Appreciate all of the help. Thinking of Yakima River and Chukar or Rocky Ford and pheasant and quail. Can do a one or two day event Or Klick and Yakima Res for pheasant? Also know of a few areas for duck Let me know and will try and organize. T
I'd be interested in setting something up. What time frame are you thinking? To be honest, I'm a complete newb to hunting but have interested in learning for some time. About the only I can offer is a db and rowing on the yak... Mike
Count me in Tom. I go to nights Oct 7th but I can always stay up. Went out for Dove this morning with Paul down near Sunnyside. Did pretty good. Picked up a new 16g for Chukar, so we'll have to give that another try. Give me a call, know a spot where a decent number of doves hang out in the afternoon just south of town. Brett
I had fun with ya last year on the casting part, sorry we couldn't get the blasting thing together. Maybe we'll try again this year.
Consider the Ronde for a Steelie Cast and Chuckar/Quail/Grouse/Pheasant blast I have done it before and it rocks
I spent four hours hunting my traditional Ruffed Grouse spot yesterday without my dog even bumping a scent. The creek was double it's normal flow for the Sept. 1st Grouse opener. The only explanation I could come up with is that with all the moisture in August the birds hadn't had to come down to the creek bottom. We went higher and flushed some Blues, but all the did was fly high up into some fir trees and look down at us. Hardly wing shooting. Did have a nice afternoon on the Yak casting hopper to the bank.
I'd be interested. I can only offer some moral support and cold ones after the shotties are in their cases. I hope this thing gains momentum.
why dont we look into an early oct hunt? say oct 5th? sunday after the chukar opener? Flows should be good in the yak and there should be more birds than later in the season, only draw back will be more people...
well they die easy enough and i havent had much of a problem with them. If anyone is up for it I will be over that way for the chukar opener and would be happy to meet up for some afternoon fishin or possibly sunday hunting. (I dont want to agree to hunt with anyone i have not yet met) Last year's openin' day
what are you talkin about? last weekend or the weekend before, depending on what you were hunting, was the opener. I blew my chase to meet up with Ribka this weekend when i lost his number. SORRY TOM!
