First Street Haven in Port Angeles is great breakfast spot, one of the best I've been to.

Yes dont go to Sabai Thai for phad thai you can get that at any asian bistro. Go to Sabia Thia if you want authentic thia food not the crap you can get at safeway deli. I also remember going into waters west as a new flyfisher and being taken for a for a bunch of money on products, that I didn't need nor have i ever needed. I prefer to shop at Swains, always informative on the local fishing, cheaper and family ran for many years.

If you get out to Forks the Chinese restaurant in town is great. For breakfast go to the place in the center of town, just down the street from the Forks Motel, same side of the street. I think it is called the Forks Cafe. For dinner I highly recommend the Mexican restaurant around the corner from the highschool on a side street. It is a a small tacqueria and is rated the #1 restaurant on Yelp. It has just expanded and the food is off the charts. No alcohol so bring you own in a brown paper bag. The "other" Mexican restaurant on the main highway sucks. Good luck/

Sadly, I live in SoCal, so Chimicum won't be in the near future for me.

gotta grab a burger at three rivers -- just west of forks on the 110 headed to la push. a bit out of the way, but way worth the drive.

Frugals rules for burgers. So does Lynn's Caboose west of PA at the 101/112 junction. Also a "good ol' boy" bar right next door called the Junction. Lot of good old timers and nice live music.

For breakfast I'd recommend Shirley's Cafe on Lincoln. Lots of stuff to look at; vintage photos and OP memorabilia. Greasy diner food at its best.

If you want to go out for a wonderful nice dinner, Michael's is good. If you want a full on dining experience, go out to C'est Si Bon. Authentic french cuisine including a lot of fresh local sea food. Amazing wine list, and a good selection of beer. I'd recommend the Filet mignon topped with dungeness crab.

It's gonna take at least two trips to get to all these places. Thanks for all the suggestions. I suspect that after we move to Washington I will be spending a lot of time on the OP. The kids have a cabin there overlooking Lake Cushman and they only use it on the weekends.

Buy steaks and grill them yourself when you get there. That's the only good food I've had on the Olympic peninsula.

We are sending Omaha Steaks out to the kids early so we can grill when we are there. I know you have steaks in Washington but there is nothing that tastes a good as good old corn fed Nebraska beef. My son-in-law agrees. They love the NW but he says you can't get as good a steak there as we have here and he has tried. Your sea food selection has got to be one of the best anywhere though.

I may be wrong, but I believe both Costco and SamsClub sell "choice". Of the 4 beef grades, "choice" is just below the "prime" grade.
    Still good stuff though.

costco also sells prime beef here in Washington. It is package in blue trays and is usually a couple of bucks more per pound.
