    The great Skagit River closed at midnight but it could be open for the catch and release of some of the largest winter steelhead in the world . . .

    Those trees in the background of your picture; we should be fishing when they have green buds popping out. Instead of having a fleece hoody pulled up over your head you should be sporting a ball cap and sun glasses while glinting into the April sun. You should be worrying about the high sun putting the fish down or figuring out how late you can stay on the river because the sun won't set until 8:00 PM. The river closing on January 31st is bullshit.
