I can't remember the exact weekend but last time I went to the area around Lenice in the Spring my dog got covered in Ticks. I HATE ticks!!! So, be careful where you decide to sit down.
I second Cabezon's advice on checking the weather report for wind. It is frequently a trip killer anywhere in the Columbia basin.
Wind can be killer and spoil a trip. As for ticks, they are all over eastern WA. I have only seen one tick on my waders over the years while fishing the dry side. As for dogs, I would expect that, with all the running through the sage, weeds and bull rushes. Just a fact of life over there. This subject comes up about this time every year...... MB
