Went to Pass Lake Sunday. The lake had remenants of a bloom presant. Weather was good, cool but there was a slight wind. There were quite a few fishermen, most were skunked as were I. I did see one person cat catch a couple. One was a 17" - 18" brown off of the bottom. I did see a number of rollers on the surface about the same size.

My brother and I launched the boat at 7:00 A.M. amid the stench of rotting algae at the parking lot. Anchored up and attempted to fish Chironomids. The flies were so slimed by the time they sunk they looked like green leeches. Until things clear up its goona be tough fishing.

I fished Pass from 8:30 till about 3:00. The water was a cool 58 degrees and yes, the algae is still hanging around. Most of the big fish are laying low. I managed to c&r one 18", and two others about 14-16" on buggers and soft hackles. Also a few minnows around 6". Still need for the algae to break up--too much sun this fall?
