Its great to take a trip down memory lane. I have been to basically every spot and recognize the scenery. Silver Creek this time of year gets slow and the once prevalent hatches of early summer are done. Midges, Tricos and terrestrials rule the surface water activity. Great trip!

Thanks for the great pics. I lived for several years in eastern Idaho back in the '70s and used to float the South Fork quite a bit. I hope you ate those rainbows!

    Ahh Silver Creek.......
    Brings back wonderful memories...
Did you try any deer hair imitations like a mouse?
I've been told there are good sized browns lurking around..

Thanks for the good words on the photos.

I know that IDF&G wants anglers to retain any bows taken on the South Fork, but I did not feel right leaving the bows I caught on the bank, so I returned them.

As far as Silver Creek, the mosquitoes were terrible, even with lots of DEET. Once dusk arrived I stayed in my mosquito free zone (tent), so no night time mousing for browns.

Stripping A mouse pattern Just before dark will bring some enormous browns to the net on silver creek in late summer!
