Chris- I am having trouble importing pictures into my posts from the gallery. Is there a post going step by step that may show what i am missing. I cant figure out what I am doing wrong. Doesnt seem to make sense to upload the pictures to the gallery and then have to take up more space in attachments. I am pretty sure i am just doing something stupid or missing a step.
    Thanks for the help
    David

It'll waste a bit of space but it seams you do need to upload to each area.

On the forum, when you're managing your attachments, you can either browse to your network places and enter the URL of the image within the gallery or find the image on your drive. I'd probably just take them from my hard drive to save a few steps acquiring the gallery URL on each image.

ok.... so you write your message and go to put in a picture from the gallery. do you click on the image insert button next to the hyperlink button or do you go to manage attachments?
maybe its just the fact that I cant get the picture into a window alone. it always has the board options around it. is there a way to isolate the picture?

ok so I think i have figured out to try to find it through my network places but it wont let me access the workgorup. I keep getting a blank choose file screen at this point. I am assuming that is where i would find the url?

Within the manage attachments, you can't just paste in the URL and expect it to find and upload the photo. You need to browse, select network places, and paste in the full URL to the file field and hit open. The file is download off the net into a temporary folder which is used to upload back to the board. Damn that's stupid.

Yep, that's your problem. That URL directs you to the gallery page that displays the image. To obtain the image URL, find the image you want to upload, right click on it and select properties.

The ability to add attachments from URL's is in as a request. The feedback from vBulletin is that it's likely to be an improvement on the next version. It's already an option for adding avatar's so it shouldn't be too difficult for them to add to the post attachments.
