Three pinks + 1 other legal species of salmon. Two combined = 1 chinook + 1 coho, or chinook +chum, or coho+pink, or coho + chum or..... With the two extra pinks we get a total of three, if we maanage to get out and catch the first one.

You must be an attorney. I owe you for 30 minutes of your time trying to figure out what you just wrote. Reading the state regs was easier than enterpreting the above;)

Affirmative. The regs read two salmon of any species plus two additional pinks. The first two fish could be Pinks and then the two additional fish are Pinks. That's direct from Fish and Game. Hatchery Kings have a minimum size of 22" but you could keep two, according to the regs (have them in my lap at this time) and then two additional Pinks. Other salmon species have no minimum size, limit two plus two additional Pinks. I asked for clarification once and was told that the regs were "very clear." How 'bout that?

On this point, I think the regs are clear. Perhaps DFW needs to institute a reading comprehension and/or logic test before purchasing a license. How would you state this situation if you were the rule guru? Remember, the existing regulation pamphlet is already 148 pages. No one want to carry around a regulation pamphlet the length of the Seattle phone book.

I apologize for the confusion. I'm just a dumb engineer.

A couple years ago a friendly fisherman at Lincoln Park told me that "Daily limit two (combined)" implies the two items in the combnintion are different.

I was wrong to believe him. Go catch and keep four.

If anyone backs out and a spot opens up, let me know. I have the day off and can probably carpool with Nick or Ed.

Pinkfest Sunday. Plan on arriving after 12:00. I want to fish in the morning too. Don't forget the eats. We originally had about 25 but with wives and children we are about 10 more. If you want to trade some flies around, bring them. I have plates, cups, napkins and plastic flatware but no serving spoons so bring them. I purchased 48 burgers and buns, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and condiments. I'll have some aluminum foil if you want to burn a fish you caught for some fresh pink salmon. The weather should be good and the tides outstandiing. The fish are in as of about two days ago so that should be pretty good as well. Please remember to park up the hill except for Les Johnson and Bob Jones. See you there,

Looking forward to seeing you again. Sunday is the anniversary of the day I fell and had to bail out early on our trip. Hopefully I can make it through the weekend.
