  1. Don't know about all of you, but with all this rain, I need something to get excited about. Here is a Donaldson Rainbow from a well known, fly fishing only lake. This fish was fooled by an unlikely dry fly called the "Racoon".

  2. Here is a winter bow from a local river.

Oh yeah this is not me holding the fish.

  3. Hard to nail down a trip that was "the best", Albacore fishing off the mouth of the columbia was definatly up there. Screw steelhead, I'd rather catch these.

  4. Somewhere in SE AK...

On a 6wt, in salt water, while dolly fishin'. None of the clients could see this fish, and repeated efforts by the other guide (standing, w/rod) and I (holdin') to get them to cast and drift correctly were summarily ignored.

On lunch-break, thinking the fish to be imaginary, one of the clients gave me the rod and said "show us that fish now".

OK, no prob. It cruised by, one cast...one fish.

  6. A few fish from a trip to MT in September, not sure if it was still summer, but close enough.

Yes, I do like to get that fish close to the camera, but they were still some decent trout. The rainbows were both on dries, the brown was on a streamer. That's my buddy Kevin in the middle-and that bow was the last on a hopper for the summer.

  14. Thanks Guys, now I'm mored amped up now! Jim, don't you have some cave paintings of fish you could show us?

  15. When I go fishing a camera is something I don't take along. When it is in my pocket I don't catch anything and when I leave it in the car it gets stolen. I have only a few big fish to my credit and those I carry around in my head most of the fish that I seem to catch are just dinks. 6" to 18"

I guess that you could say that I'm the worlds worst fly fisher. But I have fun out there not catching anything. :thumb:

  19. Late September in the Yakima Canyon. First fish caught on a 4wt. custom IMX from newoutdoors.com. Enticed him by stripping a Hale Bopp on a type 4 full sink across the seams, nice 16" fatty!

  20. Pretty cool to see bamboo flex like that! About what percentage of the total possible flex is that rod at in that pic? I know it would only be a guess....
