Heading over to point no point for a couple of days, can anyone give me some friendly advice on coho and cutt fishing there in late July. I fished there with gear for king salmon as a boy.

Is it worth bringing the fly rod? 6wt or 8 wt? Sinking or intermediate line?
    Casting from the beach?
Should I bring our very stable canoe and troll off the beach?
    Tide?
I assume a small flatwing streamer, a clouser or something big and fishy looking would work.
Does the boat house still rent boats?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I suggest you talk to the guys at Peninsula Outfitters on Poulsbo. They're good guys and will steer you straight.

I fish a 6wt with floating line and my popper. That being said, your 8wt will work just as well as will an intermediate sink line, or shooting heads, or outbounds. # 2-6 Chartreuse Clousers are good as are pink and white clousers. I wouldn't put a canoe out there. It would make too inviting a buzz bomb target if you're close to shore and flotsam to be rammed by the boat jockeys.

Thanks for the head's up. No canoe. Clousers. Both rods work. Check.

Also, there are other beaches in the area the hold SRCs, but not too any to be found at PNP
