    Geez...You turn your back, and...

After a 12-day hiatus caused by the catastrophic failure of my computer, I come on here to find everything changing! Hey, change is good!
To reply to Chris' challenge, I'm good to go with my real name, too. I WILL miss New River Mike, but a thorn by any other name...or whatever...

Mike Etgen (aka New River Mike)

I agree screen names are more fun and then there is the privacy issue...But I respect the call to put a name where the mouth is.
Personally I was looking forward to changing my screen name to one that better described my personality. Maybe a few didn't take comments too seriously from someone named "beadhead"?

I checked the user menu and I saw how we can change just about everything except our screen name, is this still an administrator function?

If so, please change my name to ChrisW, underneath you can write beadhead sailfish.

The latter is the intended screen name change I had in mind. It combines my two favorite hobbies into one magnificent animal. And it sounds better than ChrisW beadhead

Nice job on the site! I /we appreciate all the hard work.

    Re: name useage

Chris you're doing a Great job with this site. Although most People know me as Longears ( I'm a Basset Hound Breeder); I too will go with the flow and go with my real name for a screen name although I have some reservations.
So please change my name to
    Randy Diefert (aka longears)
so my user name is going to be my screen name Correct?
Byw why did I have to change my password (not that it matters a whole bunch)

(chris)The passwords were not able to be ported over from the old board. It had nothing to do with your account personally. Everyone has gone through it. (chris)

Put yer name where yer mouf is:

Chris, you can change my monniker from JAWS to Jim Wallace, and i will continue to sign my messages...Jimbo.

Nobody I know around here reads this forum. There is, however, another individual with my name (James Wallace) who lives in Westport (I live in Grayland, just south of there), and writes letters to the editor of The Daily World and other local papers. Political diatribes, crackpot stuff and such. That kook is the bane of my existence, as I often am asked if I wrote "that letter." (No! I didn't! Wasn't me!) So, I am not worried about exposing my true identity, as things could not be much worse. Maybe the other guy will catch some grief from MY postings

    Everybody calls me Jimbo

    names

I'm mostly a lurker, but in the interest of full disclosure and a more civil level of discourse (Why should this board be different from a presidential election?;)) I will use my full name... Don Perry. And yes, Mike C. it is that Don Perry.
