Fished quail 4 times in last two weeks. Mostly focused on evening/dusk baetis. spinners and cripples seem to work best when fish are consistently feeding on the surface, fish well past dark. If fishing during the heat of day, two methods 1) intermediate with damsel nymphs or baetis nymphs 2)floating line with uber long leader 20 ft using slip indicator and baetis nymphs. The key to this method is to constantly adjust the depth of flies and keep flies moving.

Good report, sounds like you've fished there a few times. Any size to the fish? Was the lake turning over yet? Sweet brown on your avatar!
