Does anyone have an opinion about building your raft floor at the top of the tubes instead of down into the raft - sort of cataraft style? This would mean your seat and oar locks would have to be elevated accordingly.
Is there a performance issue here when rowing? What would be some other pros/cons?

What performance/storage/usability advantage are you expecting to gain with this idea?

the raft has too much rocker and i cant get enough floor area down below that is flat. if i elevate the floor i essential have the whole surface at top of tubes over about 8' length. It also makes it way easier to inflate raft then just plop frame and floor on top of tubes. i have the old style nrs bottom of the line rowing frame with plywood seats.
