anybody got an easier way of doing this besides cranking on a big round file? It makes my sissy hands a little sore.

I use a rat tail rasp chucked in an electric drill and have found that to be quick and easy. It only takes a few minutes and has never failed me. However, it does make a bit of a mess so my wife insists that I do it outside. One precaution though if you do give it a try, make sure that you reverse the drill motor, otherwise it cuts too fast and may bind up or actually break the cork rings. Give it a try, you will be plesantly surprised at how simple it makes the job.
