I recently sent a vise back to Regal to have the jaws replaced. Came back like new, baby!
But then I found that something has changed with the jaws- unlike my ten year old jaws, these new ones seem to have a different shape in the semicirciular cutout used when securing bigger hooks. I noticed this when I started "springing" the hook gap on some of my smaller low water steelhead hooks (4/6).
Anybody know anything about this? I'm kind of missing my old chipped jaws now, and double-kicking myself in the ass for trying to tie #18 scuds on them. that was how I chipped them to begin with...:(
