I know there are a lot of choices out there, but what is equivalent to this rod that I now use? It is a Sage 9' - 5 Wt. I love this rod. I can cast it a mile. I have never built a rod in almost 50 years of fly fishing! Embarrassing to say the least, but that's the way it goes. Any suggestions? Should I just forget looking for the RPL blank? Are there any out there? If so, I would be interested in possibly a 6 Wt. for use on Coho off the beach. Does Sage sell old blanks such as the RPL? I use my 5 Wt. for sea run cutts and it is perfect. What would a comparable blank be (if anyone knows) from another manufacturer? Questions..questions...questions. :) Thanks for any input.

replaced the "action" not the rod entirely... more of a value priced rod.

    Larry,

If you haven't already, post this question on www.rodbuildingforum.com - I suspect you'll find a deeper knowledge base regarding specific blank actions. You might even find the question has already been asked if you search.
