That river will shrink your member(ship) in mid August. Good move.
Thats why I never wade deeper than my knees, solves the shrinkage problem
looked up those olsons...Wow...drag version though is about twice the saracione...I have a hard enough time justifying the cost of my sara's...but take one apart and see how well their made and you know it's got the value....also, they take a pretty good beating and come out fine...
Can't buy a reel and not fish it hard...otherwise no point for me....can't stand the thought of it just sitting there...
never really liked the cascapadia but they are now down around 4-5 bones so if that was my budget I would start looking there...
Kerry...I found that out too...fished the morning wet wading the Stilly...(in late july, early aug.) drove up and around and was poking around for some trout on the skagit...nut deep was NOT an option...ankle deep was all I was going and shivering like a school girl doing that..
I am trying to get to an Olson someday. I think a nice reel is like driving a nice sports-car and now I drive a Audi. The Maserati is on the horizon some day soon.
I find the Olsons to match up to the bead rig perfectly. Good call.
When did ALL ABOUT THE FLY start selling Saracione reels?
Oh for a while now. You know Ron- Big Pimpin everything he does.
I love this thread. Just because we are in a recession doesn't mean we have to participate!
I'm a full fledged participant.
I dunno evan, you're runnin much nicer rods and boats now that you're laid off. And the school gig ain't so bad
I own two Echos, and got the boat by selling off every other piece of fishing equipment I owned that wouldn't be necessary this winter. I had like 7 rods when I got laid off.
I feel almost as sorry for you as you feel for yourself.
Helps I have a suga mama
what does that make the dude that bought both of the saraciones ron had, super big pimpin?
Damm right, spend like a democrate & lie like a republican, It's easyier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission, at least at my house it is. besides like I've said before "these day fly shop owners are like black labs. their always happy to see you, even more so if you have cash!
Newsflash! Recession ended in June of 2009.
I was the other GENT..... First of all it was a experience of a life time, I really appreciate Stewart DEE for taking his time from his fishing time; teaching this newbie how to set up, how to cast, he was so patient-shadow me till i gets it...He show me the swing, even though we didn't catch anything, it was the time spend on the river I will never forget... thanks you so much... jimmy
Thanks for the kind words.
