Snake Skin Inlay

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to inlay a snake skin into a rod before? I was also thinking about trying to inlay the skin into a reel too- check out the attached picture. I have seen a snake skin inlay on a re-curve bow before but never a fly rod.

The reel is a G-Loomis Venture fly reel that I got for my birthday a couple years ago. I think it would look cool on one side.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of project, or any advice about tackling this type of build? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
