Well, as many of you already know, my family and I moved here a little over a year ago due to the health of our youngest son, Calvin. It wasn't a move based upon anything other than hoping to get him in a better place, and while he continues to struggle with his illness, we remain optimistic at his future, and of continued medical improvements.

I was able to maintain a position at my company when we moved, and felt very fortunate to have done so. I was a sales manager for Conco, and I worked primarily in the petrochemical realm, having previously run our fossil and nuclear sales for the West Coast. Anyway, long story short, while I owed my company a great deal, and have nothing but fondness of my time with them, it became increasingly apparent that the time away from home was becoming too much for my wife, for the kids, and also for me personally (the job entailed many weeks gone on end.)

So, as I became better friends with Anil at Puget Sound Fly Co, we started discussing the possibility of a partnership. I really have come to like this shop, and both Anil and myself can see the future potential of growing the business, especially with a renewed effort at website and internet initiatives, increased classes and demos, and even increased travel. I was in the fly fishing business for many years prior to taking a career in industrial sales, and most recently had worked for Frontiers Travel. After some discussions, we came to a mutual decision, and, well, I am pleased to say that I am going to be here in WA for the long haul. I was able to make an investment in the shop, and so instead of selling condenser cleaning and non-destructive testing for power plants, I'm now selling Loomis NRX's and Lamson Speedsters (waaaaayyy more fun, believe me...) But this move is such a positive thing for me and my family, and while not as lucrative as my past position, it allows me to be home nightly for my family, and allows for a better lifestyle in the end.

Thought I'd say thanks to all of you who have made me feel so welcome here, and we look forward to seeing you in the shop. I'm certain I will be posting more in the future, but in the meantime, if you have any questions or just would like to chat, please drop me a line and I look forward to getting to know all of you better as time goes by!

I'm glad to hear of this move that puts family first. I'm sure I speak for many others on this site when I say that we all will benefit, too, by your decision to stay her in the great Pacific Northwet! I look forward to your continued posts and perhaps meeting you on the water or in the shop some day.

Awesome to here about your future with the shop. It was awesome meeting you this year in the river, you have a lot to give to the fishing industry.

See you soon at the shop!

It was good seeing you at the shop yesterday, just remember all NRX's should be gray\blue!

Thanks all! A kinder welcome could not be imagined, I'm just happy that things have fallen into place so smoothly, and hopefully will continue to do so.

I'm in the shop pretty much every day now, so please feel free to swing by and say hi.

On that note, we are actually open 7 days a week now (we will likely post a separate post as well.) But we will be open on Sundays now, from 11-4, and also, to aid those who cannot get into the shop during the week, we are now open late on Wednesdays (10-8) so stop on in!

But again, couldn't be more pleased, and your warm welcome makes the decision seem all the wiser.

    Dan
