After reading Anil's report about the pinks in my area I decided to hit the beach after work. I got there and no one was fishing, lucky me! The tide was high, the water clarity was pretty bad and there was a lot of salad floating along the shore. I fished for about an hour seeing the occasional fish roll, or hear a splash, but no takes. After a while I was getting a little frustrated so I started screwing around with roll casts. I saw a fish rise and I roll casted to it, usually I let my fly sink for a bit then begin my retrieve, this time I decided to retrieve right away and to strip fast, this did the trick as the fish turned and slammed my clauser. I ended up with a nice clipped coho that I thumped, filleted, BBQ'd, and ate within 45 min of landing it. :)
