Spider ID?

    I'm sure a trout has eaten one of these before. Can anyone ID? Both beautiful and terrifying looking, I found this fella had hitched a ride on my son's vest after we busted through some brush on Taneum Creek.

    Bingo! This appears to be a female. These are ambush spiders . . . maybe your Son was ambushed? They can & do bite and are found in most states.

    Nice! Thanks you guys. I guess he was ambushed. When I went to knock it off with the tip of my rod, it was very aggressive. Very cool looking critter.
