Stinger Fly Helpful Hint

    Remember to tie a stinger hook on your front hook/shank. I didn't notice until after I cut the front hook point off.

    nope, it is now a hookless teaser. as i was tying it i was getting impressed with myself how thin the underbody was. easy when there's no firewire underneath.

    If there is enough of the old hook left to hold junction tubing you can run the leader through the eye, over the foam, and through junction tubing to a stinger. Sort of like the traditional way to rig a waddington shank.

    perhaps a NO HOOKS ON THIS FLY swap?

    It is a very nice tie outside of that

    search pattern?
    fly to use when the season isn't open yet?

    Its also what rajeff would use to tease roosterfish into casting range for the gear guys.

    My first thought as well. Would it be considered fishing and can you get ticketed for hookless casting practice?
