Stremer Rod Questions

Looking for a blank capable of casting large sculpin patterns with a full sinking line using the Kelly Galloup 'jerk strip' method. However, it's really tough to evaluate a rod for this application when you're evaluating in a parking lot with a full floater and a tuft of yarn at the end of a tapered leader!

Hoping some of the dedicated streamer anglers might share their wisdom regarding their experience with their favorite tapers. Based on my research I am considering the following:

Sage VT2 9' 7wt
St Croix IV 9'6wt
Dan Craft FT 9' 5(or 6) wt
Winston Biix 9' 7wt

Also, the Scott SX2 9' 6wt comes highly recommend for this application. However, it is not available in a blank.

Opinions? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Take care,
Chris
