I haven't been able to find a reel size chart for switch rods. Looking at a nice deal on a 4/5 (its really a 4) wt switch.

Would this Lamson Konic 3.5 that I use on my 8wt single hander be overkill?

I assume this would be fine, but I just want to make sure. If I could double up the uses of this reel and save myself some $$$ that would be awesome. The rod weighs either 5 or 6 ounces, depending on if I attach the fighting butt

I use the 3.5 on my 5wt switch and it pairs up nicely.

how long is the rod? what line will you be using? 2 handed spey casting? single handed? overhead?
just things that might factor into your choice. your reel should hold the line tho.
